SCHOOL-BASED PREVENTION

Our school-based prevention education works with all grade levels to help create a safer school environment. We provide both classroom educational presentations to students, as well as specialized training to help teachers and administrators recognize and respond to sexual harassment, acquaintance rape, and child sexual abuse.

Children ages 12 to 17 years of age account for approximately a third of all reported rapes, with teens 16 to 19 years of age being three and a half times more likely than the general population to be the victims of rape or sexual assault. Through our school-based programs, school students can receive on-site support. Face-to-face communication and advocacy helps young victim-survivors cope and heal.

Educators also provide Drop-In Services, within the school building for students to access should the need arise.
COVID-19 Education Update: Recognizing that our educators and their visitor status in schools may be difficult for the 2020/2021 school year, our educators have moved all curriculum to the Zoom platform. These presentations can be scheduled to fit your time allowances and still meet requirements of the Child Safety Partnership.

Comprehensive in scope, our presentations include:
  • "Space Ships" - Personal Space Curriculum
  • Personal Body Safety
  • Friendship Issues
  • Positive and Healthy Boundaries
  • Bullying Prevention
  • Sexual Harassment Prevention
  • Healthy Relationships
  • Respecting Sexual Limits: Understanding Consent
  • Recognizing and Responding: A Workshop for Teachers
  • Technology Safety
In our Franklin and Oxford County schools, our educators are utilizing the PVACT Curriculum. More information can be found here.
